Being too strict?

I try really hard not to get on my kids about every little thing but it’s like they do stuff just to push my buttons. When we got cable my son insisted on watching his games instead of doing his homework and when my daughter found out that her bedroom window opened over the deck she started sneaking out (not even to do anything fun…just because she could!) They’ve both got cell phones in case of emergency and they use WAY more minutes than they should each month and even my mother thinks I’m too soft on them. I don’t want them to grow up being spoiled brats but I have a really hard time saying no to my kids and being too harsh on them. I guess I need to get over wanting them to be my friends and get more into being their mom but you know what, I’m feeling good about the way I parent most of the time and that’s all that really matters at the end of the day.

Movie Marathon

Our satellite television provider offered us a free trial of HBO channels for four days. It means that my hubby and I will be having a movie marathon in the next few days. Since I got back from my vacation in the Philippines, my bed time has changed. Actually it has been been over a month now that my bed time has been messed up. I used to go to bed at ten o’clock in the evening, now I usually go to bed early in the morning, around one o’clock. Anyway, the free trial offer comes at a perfect time. Aside from enjoying outdoor activities during the day time, we have movies to enjoy before bedtime. My hubby and I often watch a movie before heading off to bed. Watching a movie helps me to unwind after spending a lot of time online, blogging. Aside from fishing, watching movies is one of the many ways that my hubby and I like to spend time together.
