I try really hard not to get on my kids about every little thing but it’s like they do stuff just to push my buttons. When we got cable my son insisted on watching his games instead of doing his homework and when my daughter found out that her bedroom window opened over the deck she started sneaking out (not even to do anything fun…just because she could!) They’ve both got cell phones in case of emergency and they use WAY more minutes than they should each month and even my mother thinks I’m too soft on them. I don’t want them to grow up being spoiled brats but I have a really hard time saying no to my kids and being too harsh on them. I guess I need to get over wanting them to be my friends and get more into being their mom but you know what, I’m feeling good about the way I parent most of the time and that’s all that really matters at the end of the day.

My hubby and I were out of town when our refrigerator quit working. That made my hubby mad because we only had that GE refrigerator for eight years. His grandma’s refrigerator is still working and it is eighty years old. We are using it to keep the night crawlers cool down in the basement. My hubby checked on our GE refrigerator first to see if he could fixed it but unfortunately he was not able to so we went window shopping at the nearby home improvement stores.
We found this Kenmore 18.2 cu. ft. Top-Freezer Refrigerator at Sears for $530 on Friday but when we came back on Saturday to buy it, it was on sale for only $423.99. On top of that, we got a 10% discount and twelve months 0% interest when we applied for a new Sears card. Aside from the new refrigerator, we also bought a new washer and it is also a Kenmore. We have decided not to buy anymore GE appliances because of our bad experience with the refrigerator. My hubby has had his Kenmore washer for almost thirty years now but it has had a few problems lately so we decided to get a new one while we could still get the 10% discount.
When it comes to footwear, my hubby and I are world’s apart. I love to go for fashion and “the look”. My hubby, on the other hand, prefers comfort and fit. He doesn’t care what they look like as long as they are comfortable to wear.
After my last trip to the Philippines, I wish I had paid more attention to his emphasis on comfort. On the way over there, I got stranded in Manila because of weather and ended up staying in the airport for more than 24 hours. By the time I finally got home, my feet were swollen and sore. They bothered me for the whole rest of the trip. I should have listened to my hubby before I left and bought myself a nice pair of these strictly comfort shoes from Become.
Before we make our next trip I will definitely do some shopping for shoes. In the meantime, I can’t help looking at some of these gianni bini for special occasions. As long as I only have to wear them a couple of hours at a time, they would be really nice.
