If our vacation plans to the Philippines happen next year, we will probably be better off renting a home for our three month stay there rather than staying at a hotel. Royal Caribbean Cruises

I had a fear of boats and the water because of a near drowning experience when I was a kid. My fear got worse when the ferry that my hubby and I took on our way back from our honeymoon collided with another boat. Our ship tipped precariously from one side to the other. The engines on our ferry were shut down and we glided to a stop. Everyone rushed to the rail with their life preservers, wondering if we were going to sink. That was the scariest moment of my life and I told myself that I would never take a ferry or anything related to it ever again.

When I came here to the US five years ago, my hubby helped me overcome those fears. He always takes me fishing with him at the nearby lake during the summer season. Gradually I became more comfortable with being on the water and now I am almost completely over my fears. I would be even open to taking a cruise on a big cruise ship now.

My sister and brother in-law went on a royal caribbean cruise a couple of years ago. They seemed to enjoy their cruise immensely. Now I would really like to go on a cruise for our wedding anniversary. I would like to be able to experience that kind of vacation at least once in my life.

Trip to Illinois

I was able to finish blogging all of the tasks that were assigned to me before taking a trip to Illinois. I will be offline for two or three days. I don’t have a laptop so I can’t take my work with me. I didn’t want to let the tasks expire. It was not much but every little bit counts. I still have nine pending tasks but they can wait until I get back because they will not expire until the 15th.

We will be leaving early in the morning so that we can get there on time for visitation. My hubby and I will be staying at a motel in the area where the funeral will be for my hubby’s uncle. That way we don’t have to spend a lot of time traveling back and forth to his brother’s house. My brother in-law offered us a room at his place but my hubby decided to get a motel that was closer.

We will be saying our last goodbyes to my hubby’s uncle on Friday. We are planning to leave right after the funeral and will probably arrive home by around mid night or early Saturday morning. It depends on the weather conditions. If there are blizzard warnings in western Minnesota and North Dakota we may just stay at a motel in Wisconsin and drive back the next day. That will be much safer than driving late at night on the snowy roads when we are both tired.
